Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1/2 pack Hidden Valley Ranch seasoning
  • 1/8 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 medium sweet onion (chopped)
  • 1/2 red bell pepper (chopped)
  • 1/2 yellow bell pepper (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp black garlic paste
  • 1 cup shredded Havarti dill cheese
  • 1 cup shredded habanero cheddar cheese
  • 24 oz prepared mashed potatoes (store-bought or homemade)
  • 4 slices cooked bacon (crumbled)
  • Green onions (for garnish)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Brown gravy (for drizzling)

Instructions:

Step 1:

  • Use 1 tbsp of vegetable oil in a pan set over moderate heat.
  • When the oil is hot, add the onion and bell peppers. Stir until the onions are soft and clear and the peppers are fully cooked.
  • Add the black garlic paste, stir well, and transfer to a paper towel to absorb excess oil.

Step 2:

  • In a big bowl, combine ground beef with Hidden Valley Ranch seasoning and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Combine well so that the seasonings are evenly dispersed in the meat.

Step 3:

  • To shape the burger bowls, divide the meat mixture into 3 equal portions.
  • For each portion, press the center down and shape the edges into a bowl.

Step 4:

  • Fill each burger bowl with sautéed veggies.
  • Sprinkle with shredded Havarti dill cheese.
  • Top with a scoop of mashed potatoes.
  • Finish with shredded habanero cheddar cheese.

Step 5:

  • Set your grill or smoker to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cook the bowls indirectly for about 30 minutes or until an internal temperature of 158°F (70°C) is reached.
  • Let them rest for 10 minutes to allow the temperature to increase to 160°F (71°C).

Step 6:

  • Drizzle with brown gravy.
  • Sprinkle with crumbled bacon.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions.
  • Season with Himalayan salt and freshly cracked pepper.

Time to Enjoy!

Now get into this burger bowl and enjoy the rich, cheesy, meaty goodness! This feels indulgent for a good reason—it combines the best elements of a burger with mashed potatoes, a lot like a shepherd’s pie but without the peas!
